Dr. Reynolds is also a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Louisville School of Medicine. Since 2004, Dr. Reynolds has specialized in the discipline of clinical pharmacogenetics with emphasis on the technical and regulatory management of a clinical pharmacogenetics laboratory as well as development and implementation of new technology and applications for such a laboratory.
Dr. Reynolds received her BA in Biology from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY in 1996, and her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Louisville in 2001. Upon completion of her Doctorate, she was awarded a Graduate Dean's Citation for superior accomplishment in graduate studies. She completed a ComACC-accredited, three-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and affiliated University Hospital in June 2004. During her fellowship, Dr. Reynolds held the position of Chief Fellow for over two years, and won several awards for her clinical research posters. In July 2004 she was appointed as the Advanced Fellow in Pharmacogenetics in the Pharmacogenetics Diagnostic Laboratory, during which time she served as the acting Laboratory Director. Following completion of the Advanced Pharmacogenetics Fellowship in December 2005, Dr. Reynolds was hired as the Director of Laboratory Operations in the same laboratory, the position which she currently holds.
Dr. Reynolds is actively involved in numerous professional societies. She has been a part of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) at the local and national level since 2001.
